Oh boy, I’ve been letting my poor blog go unloved again haven’t I? I do think about adding posts every day but just never seem to have the time.

Boy, what a busy weekend I’ve had!!

An unexpected visitor in the form of someone wanting to see around my house (which is up for sale) appeared on my doorstep Saturday afternoon. After a quick show around and some Q&A’s he made a an offer and we’ve decided to accept it. There will be no chain so I could be out as soon as 6 weeks time ~ OMG, I’d better get looking for something else soon.

I completed two LO’s at the crop on Saturday morning which I’m quite pleased with. One was using up the scraps….part of Shimelle’s class.

I have such little will power that it’s quite scary at times! I was doing really well resisting yet another online class BUT I just can’t seem to resist a Shimelle class and so have signed up for Something from (almost) Nothing today. I wouldn’t say I have mountains of unused stash but I still have more than enough and as for some of the ancient papers…….well I just hope Shim can help!

Working full-time again all week, which is good for the funds but bad for the soul! I wish my job wasn’t quite so boring!!

Went to see Lovely Bones on Sunday with Megz, I loved it but she didn’t. Hoping to go and see ‘Alice’ this week too….can you tell I’ve signed up for a Cineworld card again? Well, if I didn’t go to the cinema, I wouldn’t go anywhere!

Well, the deed is done and the estate agent has been around to take photos and details of the house and it will be put on the market next week.

A bit of background detail…….my husband left me just after Christmas and although we were going to try and keep the house together until our mortgage finishes in 7 years ~ it wasn’t working out. So I’ve decided to divorce him, sell the house and start again (at 54 ?!?!). Unfortunately I won’t be able to afford a house of my own and therefore will have to rent one to put a roof over our heads (my two ‘children’ will be coming with me).

It’s funny how life turns out isn’t it? You think by the time you get to this stage that everything is settled and set in stone but nothing ever is. Not life, health, wealth, marriage…..nothing!

Dexter goes to his new home tomorrow and I hope he will be very happy there…..that was another very hard decision to make. But if we’re moving to rented I can’t have a rabbit digging the garden up. We’re hoping to be able to take the two cats with us (fingers crossed).

In other news, I’ve been managing to do a bit of art journaling and have just finished a LO for this month’s challenge on UKS, which was Friends.

These are my much missed friends (who I could really do with at this moment!) they now live in Spain and I only get to see them once or twice a year if I’m lucky.

Happy 1st March! Yes, I know I’m a day late, story of my life at the moment always running to catch up. I feel like the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, a caught a preview of this movie yesterday – I can’t wait!!!
Anyhoo, March brings the start of a new class for me from Vivianna on Polka Dot Robot. It’s an Art Journal class called Quiet Nights and I’ve done my first page too….

It’s about where I am right now … - wanting to escape until this part of my life is sorted. I’m having to put the house on the market and move into rented accommodation due my husband splitting!! I’m not looking forward to all this upheaval and can only hope it will not be too painful.

Today, dear readers, we are going to discuss art journaling as I will be starting an online class on 1^st March at Polka Dot

Robot…..here.

Now I have been trying to do art journaling for a year or more with very mixed results. One or two pages I like

but most of them I don’t.

Is this because I spend too much time looking at other people’s journals on the internet and in books instead of just ‘going with the flow’? I’m always trying to make my pages look ‘pretty’ or ‘arty’ and when I come to write my actual thoughts down on the page…..I dry up! Surely journaling should really be all about the writing rather than the ‘art work’, but what should I write? Everything and anything? Puerile and important? Past, present, future?

Does anyone else do art journaling and if so do you have any hints and tips? Do you have any links to good websites or blogs? Thanks for looking.

Let me introduce you to my son and his new ‘toy’ ~ his 125cc motorbike! He’s like ‘the cat that got the cream’ and I’m like the ‘mummy waiting for ‘that’ call’ every time he goes out on it!

I’ll just hope and pray that he learnt his lesson from the car accident he had last year and rides a bit more sensibly than he drove!

Luckily he’s a long way off affording anything bigger for now.

In other news I’m just back from the ‘flicks’ with DD ~ we went to see Mel Gibson in Edge of Darkness. It was quite good but I did feel that Mel is getting a bit too old for these parts anymore. I’m looking forward to Clash of the Titans, Lovely Bones and Leap Year……coming to a cinema near you soon!

After my last whining post I can (thankfully) report that I’m feeling a lot more positive about life now having spent last night and this morning in the company of my brother and his family.

It always does me good to visit them and see how a real family should be, close, loving, kind, sharing etc. We had fun last night with food, cocktails and games and then this morning a Walk around Bradford on Avon followed by a hot chocolate and toasted tea cake and a gorgeous little tea room. I also treated myself to a wonderful scarf with the last of my birthday money!

Also, don’t think I showed you the finished invites I did for my Mum & Dad’s anniversary party.

Oh God I’m so fed up and down in the dumps! I’ve just done two more full days at the most boring job in the world. Megan has just received her bank statement and is being charged another £75.00 in fees (she won’t be told!!) – there’s a lot of door slamming and crying going on. Rhys still hasn’t found a job although his father thinks he’s found one for him as a double glazing salesman on commission only basis!?!!!

Trying for a more positive note – I completed this LO a couple of nights ago for Dolly’s 52in10 challenge and I’m quite pleased with it.

I’m also trying to complete 10 party invitations for my Mother who is organising an Emerald Anniversary party for May. Trouble is, I’m not in the mood now!!

Sorry for such a whining post but it does be good to vent every now and then!

Birthday…..

Another full day at work today but hopefully back to part-time as from tomorrow.

It’s my birthday today and although I’m getting too old for them it’s still nice that people remember and I get a few cards and gifts. I got some money from my parents, a DVD from Megan & Rhys, a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from my brother in Australia, some wine from friends and mother in law and a M&S voucher from work.

Tea was made for me by my DD, Megz. My DS, Rhys is no where to be seen (surprise, surprise!)

Been asked to do some invitations for my Mum & Dad’s Emerald Wedding Anniversary bash and also been asked to do some Order of Service for my nieces wedding. So looks like I’ll be kept busy over the next few weeks.

Just settling down with a glass of vino to watch Corrie. Cheers!

Been a long time again but I have been working full time this week in my defence! Been too shattered and lacking in time to update my poor blog.

Anyhoo…..here’s what I’ve been doing lately starting and even finishing one or two or three

pages of my art journals. I’m loving this last one the bestest and I’m not sure where I’m going with the green one but am sure to get some inspiration from the wonderful pages on Flickr.

In other news, I’ve had to buy myself a new kettle and although I didn’t really need one, I had to have the matching toaster too!

Just discovered this great blog - It's All About Me . They set a challenge twice a month and the latest one is …..This Makes Me Angry. Here’s my take on it.

Packaging and rubbish get me going. Have you ever bought something and it’s in a box with a window and then inside it’s in a plastic container and then it’s tied down with plastic cord thingies?!?!?? Is it a fragile? Does it need that much packaging? How much rubbish is going into my bin?!??

This is only one of my ‘things that made me mad’ …..What about waiting at a roundabout in your car for people that don’t indicate that they’re turning? ….. What about people who can’t be bothered to hold the door for a second? …. What about queue jumpers? …. What about people who can’t say please or thank you?

Oohhh don’t get me started…..

We received quite a lot of snow again last night and so I spent quite a while brushing off the snow from the car before work again this morning!

I’ve done this week’s challenge over at UKS (theme = forbidden fruit) my LO was about the pile of books I have waiting to be read. I must not buy any more ‘til I’ve read some of them first!

I also did a nice LO last night that I thought I’d share with you on here as it turned out so well….

All this talk of a New Year and goals and aims and resolutions…….I can’t get enthusiastic about it at all. I did choose a word for the year….change. But that was just a knee jerk reaction to my recent change in circumstances….I doubt very much if things will change much this year unless I make an effort to change them.

BUT HOW!?!!

I think one of my aims must be to get out of this house more before I become a complete hermit.

I should get more organised both in my personal life and with my scrapbooking too.

I know everyone will be blogging about the snow but I don’t care I’ve got to post some of my pics too.

I’ve done nothing again today but am feeling much better at least. Looks like I’ll be back at work tomorrow (weather permitting).

My friend, Sue, came over from Spain yesterday on a long arranged trip to see a Medium (you have to book at least a year in advance) and there’s a good chance she may not get there tomorrow because of the bad weather! How annoying is that?!

Still haven’t done anything creative yet this year (ok, one page in my new journal) need to get my mojo back in action and get scrapbooking etc. I miss it! I’ve got a crop to go to on Saturday morning so that may be just what I need to get started again.

to the New Year! I’ve been feeling lousy for a couple of days now cold/flu but thought I should go into work today as it’s the first day back after two weeks shutdown. Big mistake ~ feel even worse now and am not going into work tomorrow, don’t care what they say! Ever coughed so much that your ribs hurt? Ever feel like your nose is gonna fall off any minute?

Anywho…..I managed to do a double LO to finish off my 2009 album before I fell foul of the lurge.

I have finished my Christmas Journal which I’m pleased about but can’t upload anymore pics at the moment as my DD has gone off with the camera. She’s partying the night away in Bristol with her friends (good for her!!)

My BIG news is that my husband and I have separated and he has gone to live elsewhere. He says there’s no-one else involved but I’m not entirely sure I believe him….time will tell.

The ‘children’ have been very good about it but I’m expecting a backlash further down the line I dare say. I feel a bit numb at the moment and am functioning on auto-pilot but there will be lots to do and think about in the new year.

Therefore my word for 2010 is CHANGE. What’s yours?

The Eve of Christmas…..

Back on my feet today after a whole day in bed yesterday with a stomach bug! Every year this happens ~ last year I was in bed on Christmas Day!! At least it’s over and done with before Christmas Day this year.

Adrian went and got the Turkey breast from Sainsburys yesterday and I thought we were all done with the shopping BUT (best laid plans and all that!) had word from my brother last night who we’re going to visit on the 27th that Gill would like us to bring a salad with us….do I have any salad stuff in??? No, of course not! DH to the rescue again and off he goes to Sainsburys again this morning to get some salad stuff….now that really is it!

In the meantime, I’ve managed to do a couple more pages for my journal….

Can’t believe it’s a week since I updated my blog….not very good am I?!

Weekend was good/bad …. had my cyst removed from the back of my neck on Friday and 4 stitches – ouch! It’s still swollen and uncomfortable but the antibiotics should help I hope.

Went out Saturday night for our ‘girl’s night out’ – it was really good and we all had a fab time.

I’ve had a quick catch up with my Christmas Journal too – so the pages are quite plain ‘cos I haven’t got time to faff about too much.

Managed to do three more pages for my Christmas Journal this afternoon as well as cleaning the bathroom and dusting around upstairs….so don’t feel guilty about a little crafting! LOL

I also managed to make a carrot cake yesterday, which is now all gone bar one slice…..and they’re arguing as to who should get that. So you could say it was a raving success (that, or else they’ll just eat anything!)

Yesterday Megan and I went to the Christmas Market in Bath and although I enjoyed it there didn’t seem to be as many stalls there as last year. That’s probably a good thing though as it was very busy anyway! We only lasted ‘til 2.30 and were dead on our feet by then so caught an early train home. Makes me wonder how my sister-in-law and her husband got on in Birmingham which is supposed to be one of the biggest Christmas Markets in the UK ~ don’t think I could cope, especially if it was mega-busy there. Does anyone else go to Christmas Markets? Which was the best one you’ve been to?

Christmas journals….

I have mixed feelings on this topic, I tried to keep one last year but didn’t get very far with it. Anyhow I’m going to try again this year and have concocted a journal over the past week and will just try and pick up inspiration from the various blogs that are giving out prompts.

Christmas always used to be very special to me when I was younger or even when we were in our twenties bringing home boyfriends/husbands. Then when we started having children it was fabulous to share in their joy and wonder but now I’m afraid it means very little to me anymore. My husband does not want to be bothered with it at all, my ‘children’ are now 21 and 18 and although my DD is keen on all things Christmas my DS just wants money from everyone and where’s the fun in that?!

I’m trying to get into the Festive Spirit and am hoping that keeping a journal may help. Does Christmas still mean the same to you? Will you be keeping a journal this year?

Have a look at what dropped on my doormat yesterday!! Do I get a prize for the 1st Christmas Card?? It was from my brother in Australia…..why so early Chris? LOL

I was in the ‘zone’ yesterday when it came to crafting and managed to get this Christmas banner started Friday night and finished yesterday and I’m well pleased with it. The idea came from here which is lovely blog full of great ideas.

However, the real thorn in my side at the moment is money or should I say lack there of. My husband is self-employed as a driving instructor and has been for 4 or 5 years now but we’ve never known business to be as slow as it is at the moment.

Although there are ‘signs of green shoots’ in the economic world I’m afraid it hasn’t filtered down to us yet so it will be another grim Christmas/New Year although, luckily, I have been saving a bit throughout the year which will help.

Anyway, enough doom and gloom and I know we’re not the only ones in this position, I’m sure we’ll survive somehow.

We also have another problem to solve now thanks to Dexter the rabbit! I got home from work lunchtime yesterday to find a note through my door saying that our rabbit had escaped and he was now ‘resting’ at No.1. I dutifully went over there to collect said rabbit and deposit him back in the garden. 10 minutes later I went out to check on him and he’d gone again!! Luckily he hadn’t strayed too far and so I managed to catch him and he’s now ‘confined to quarters’ until we can build higher walls/fences…..the little bugger!

I went with DH to see 2012 last night and all I can say is…………………………..what a load of cobblers!! It was far too long and full of Hollywood clichés. The acting was wooden, the attempts at humour were woeful and the special effects weren’t that ‘special’. DH said if he had gone by himself he would have walked out after half an hour!! Have you seen it yet? What did you think?

A thousand apologies to any of my followers have been waiting for my next post but I’ve been feeling a bit down recently but am trying to drag myself out of the doldrums and didn’t want to inflict my woes on you.

I’m off our with DH tonight to see 2012 (I’m in the mood for a good ‘end of the world’ movie) LOL. DH doesn’t usually do movies but wanted to see this one……I hope it’s good ~ will let you know tomorrow when I’m going to do a catching up post.

Do you ever look at things every day and not even see them? They become part of the mundane that we don’t really notice until someone else comments on it.

The grey, boring, wonky stationery cupboard at work is like that. I usually just open the cupboard get what is needed and shut the door again but every now and then someone will ask ‘any new pictures?’ We stop and have a look at the inside of the two doors on which are stuck lots of pictures of various members of staff, some in fancy dress, some with ‘celebratities’, some with their children/grandchildren.

It all started with just one photo that got stuck on there for a bit of a laugh and somehow it has snowballed over the years ‘til now, when there’s hardly any space left. Where will it all end I wonder? Will the ‘boss man’ make me take them all down? Will I have to take the old ones down to make way for new ones? Who knows? But for the time being it makes people smile……when they remember to stop and look!

Following on from yesterday’s post I can now reveal that the project I was working on was desk calendars as Christmas gifts for my family and here is the prototype….

The hardest part was sorting through the photos and trying to get a fair share of each family in there (I’ve got 4 brothers!). Might do the same for DH’s family this year too, using photos of them.

Other than that I haven’t done anything too exciting today although I am attempting to bake a banana cake as we speak, with some over-ripe ‘nans that I had left from last week. Haven’t baked anything in ages so wish me luck! Will blog the result tomorrow…..unless it’s a complete disaster!

AND…. following on from Shim’s weekend bonus I have been messing with my blog again!!

Must be the festive season because I’ve just had my first Starbucks Eggnog Latte! I went into town with my daughter and couldn’t resist a Starbucks and muffin.

As it happened M&S have their meal for a tenner offer on this weekend so I bought two of them (well there is three of us for tea). I do think they are good value and as we’re short of cash these days it’s a nice treat every now and then! We’ve got mussels, chicken, potatoes, raspberry panacotta, melting middle choc pudd and two bottles of wine. We’ll be sat in front of ‘Strictly’ with lap trays and a glass of vino ~ bliss! (That’s DH starting on the mussels off).

I’ve started working on a Christmas project as gifts for my family this year……more of this to follow. Which means I’ve been sat in front of the PC for quite a while today ~ so when this post is published I’m switching off!!

This afternoon we had a rather nasty surprise or should I say Dexter did ~ poor fella! Luckily Adrian happened to be looking out the kitchen window when he spotted a dog chasing Dexter around the back garden. He went out to shoo the dog off and I managed to catch Dexter and brought him indoors to see if he was OK, which luckily he was. After a little hug and some soothing words he settled down for a little while on the settee beside me. Adrian found out that the dog belonged to a workman working two doors down from us who wasn’t keeping an eye on him whilst he was working…grrrr.

I’ve decided not to go down the layout route for this project at the moment and just concentrate on the blogging aspect of Shim’s class.

I don’t know if it’s me being really thick or my stupid PC set up or tiredness or what but I’m just not getting on with the instructions for Google Reader and how to set it up. I’m giving up for today and hopefully will have more time and patience tomorrow maybe.

Having just read the 1st prompt I downloaded yesterday.....I would like to add that my intentions for this blog over the coming weeks/months/years is to commit myself to blogging at least 3 times a week and to adding photos to each upload.

You wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to order a few CD Calendar Cases on-line. You can have 200 or 500 but if you just want 5 or 10 you’ve had it! Anyhoo… got some ordered (20 minimum order)from a company called Jetcase, just hope Postman Pat can find it in his heart to deliver them before Christmas!! Grrrr!

Was in town at the crack of sparrows this morning with Megz…..I hate Swindon town centre these days, they seem to be making a right mess of it everywhere you look. I bought a new mascara, some jazzy tights and some pretty papers! Oh and also some sweets for the trick or treaters tonight……if we get any. Didn’t have anyone come calling last year.

Friday at last….woo hoo!

I went for a nice long walk with Milo to Avebury today (my spiritual home) and took some photos. Felt a lot better for some fresh air and exercise.

Reasons to be cheerful….

I have been off work today and feeling very low and fed up (money worries) but having read a few blogs been for a long walk with the dog I now feel a bit brighter and have decided to make myself list 5 reasons to be cheerful today!

I still have my Mum and Dad
Everyone in my immediate family is healthy
I’ve just made my first birthday card in ages and am pleased with it
I have one or two really good friends who really care for me
I love scrapbooking

This is the card….it’s for my DD’s friend and she wanted me to us this photo of them. It’s fairly simple but looks OK I think.
I took a couple of photos of our rabbit, Dexter, yesterday. He was stretched out in the sun. He’s only 3 months old yet so I think he’s gonna be a big boy when fully grown.

Forgot to say that the picture from yesterday is of our guinea pig, Roxy, who sadly has gone over Rainbow Bridge now.

What a lovely day it’s turned out to be! Started off quite murky and grey but the sun broke through and it was a lovely afternoon, very warm!

Day started off with my dreaded sebaceous cyst leaking, so DH had a go at it and quite a lot of puss came out….yewww! I can’t wait to be rid of the bloody thing!!

Bought a copy of Scrapbook Inspirations today as I believe it is ceasing publication so I thought I’d get one last issue. It’s not a mag I buy religiously (in fact I don’t buy any religiously) but it is a good mag and will be missed from the shelves I’m sure.

Have started to comment on Facebook again as I got out of the habit and it’s quite a good way of keeping up with friends and family (if I remember!).

Well here we are on the 2nd day of blogging and I have downloaded Windows Live Writer as recommended by fellow bloggers. This is supposed to make life much easier in blogland and so I’m willing to give anything a go – so onwards and upwards.

I had a good weekend, spending some time down at Weymouth with my brother, Nick. But of course that had to be counter-balanced by feelings of guilt and inadequacy following an argument with my DD!

Not much to tell today, I'm trying to catch up with one or two chores that haven't been done in ages and also change my wardrobe over from summer to winter and throw out some bits and give some to charity.

I've done by LSNED LO for day 5 about the bloomin' weir-rabbit!

Back to work tomorrow but thank goodness I'm back to part-time now!

Forgot to put the bunny away while is was light yesterday so had to chase it around the garden in the dark with a torch which resulted in me getting bitten by the bl**dy thing! Someone else can put it away tonight!

The reason I forgot to do it when I should have is because the son-in-law of the lady from the accident turned up at my door with some flowers for me - what a lovely, kind gesture.

Pages 3 & 4 for the LSNED project. Day three was about discovering that I hadn't turned over my perpetual calendar for days and days and was still in August! Day four was about my general hatred of planning menus, shopping, unpacking it all etc. Anyway I managed to get around Sainsburys and back home within an hour by just focusing on what I need and sticking to the shopping list! Woo hoo!!

Phew......seems to be a quieter evening here TG! Last night a car mounted our driveway, knocked down our drainpipe and then reversed into some bushes. The driver then tried to get out of the car and collapsed on the road. It's a good job Megz happened to be at her bedroom window and saw what happened....she shouted down to me and I went to investigate. Found an elderly lady on the floor, called for an ambulance and stayed with her until they arrived along with two cop cars as well!!

Here are the first two pages for my Learn Something New Every Day project.....quite pleased with them but hoping to improve as I go along. May even try some digital pages too as we go along.

I'm having one of those 'don't seem to be enough hours in the day phases at the moment but must try not to stress over it and just catch up as and when I can.

Only worked 'til 2pm today and then the temp took over....woo hoo!! Not doing anymore overtime unless I really, really have to.....it eats into my scrappin' time too much! LOL

Day two of Learn Something New Every Day and I haven't had time to stop and think about it properly yet and won't tonight either as I'm going to the cinema with Megz, we're going to see Ugly Truth.

It's wet and cold here today so I think Autumn is truly setting in early. I'm glad we've booked a few days in Spain in October - might get to see a bit more sun then!

Wow, that Bank Holiday weekend went fast. Can't believe it's back to work tomorrow and working all day too....ugh!

Saturday was spent running around various shops in town to get Megan some bedding, curtain poles, curtains etc. for her newly decorated room. We also had to visit the pet shop as we have a new addition to the family....a rescue rabbit, who Megan has named Jeff Jefferson!?! Don't ask!

Sunday we had a family get together are first in years. As the kids get older it is harder to get them all together in the same place at the same time. We went to The Crown at Broad Hinton and had a lovely lunch and then went back to Mum and Dad's for some photos (of course).

It was good to get together and catch up and hope we can do it again next year when Christopher and Helen come over.

Ok, ok, I've let it slip again but I will try harder.....I promise.

Since I last posted I have been to Spain to see my dear friends Sue & Bernie which was wonderful....it was good to see a bit of sun too. Megan and I tried to get in to see the Banksy Exhibition in Bristol last Saturday.....ha ha! The queue was 5 hours long when we arrived at 9am, there was no way I was gonna stand in a queue for that long so we went shopping instead.

I've just signed up for a Shimelle class and am looking forward to starting Learn Something New Every Day on the 1st September.

News headlines in the 'local rag' tonight are Local bookshop, Borders is set to close'! Nooooo! It's my favourite book/mag shop and I will go well out of my way to visit. They are supposedly opening up a New Look shop there instead.......oh my God!! We sooo don't need another skanky clothes shop! I've signed the online petition but don't suppose it will do any good now.

It's sooooooo hot at the moment but we mustn't complain otherwise the sun will go away and never shine again! With the aid of a fan and a 'Chillow' I'm able to sleep fairly well though the night and going to the cinema in the afternoon is nice!

I'm going to see My Sister's Keeper with Sharon this afternoon.......hope I'm not disappointed as the book was really good.

Rhys started work on Monday..........so it's his 3rd day now and he's still going! He doesn't feel to good most of the time and I don't know if it's the heat, the fact that he doesn't eat properly or drugs!! He better stick with it though.

Megan is pissed off at her job too and is looking for something else - I must give her a hand with her search 'cos she's getting very down in the dumps again.

Shocking news this morning........the death of Michael Jackson overnight from a suspected heart attack.

I may not have been his number one fan and didn't particularly like his recent stuff but you cannot fault his earlier music and his time with the Jackson Five.

I shall be playing his music over the weekend and remembering his happier times.

Summer Solstice but not a lovely bright summers day I'm afraid. It's grey, cloudy and gloomy.

Spent the evening on my own again last night watching yet another DVD....can't complain as he did ask me to go down the pub with him but I didn't want to.

Megan went camping - so I hope she's having a good time. Rhys went into town to eat Chinese and they ended up sleeping here last night....boy will that room stink today!

I made this LO for Shimelle's Month of Colour and am really pleased with how it turned out. I seem to be liking the more plain, graphic look these days. It's a 8 1/2 x 11 LO which is a first for me but I think I will like scrapping in these dimensions 'cos you can scan it instead of photographing them.

I've been off poorly sick for the past couple of days with 'the trots' but am feeling a lot better today so back at work now.

I was really depressed yesterday over Rhys and college again! I don't know how he can have managed to do nearly a whole year at college only to kick off in the last few weeks. He doesn't seem to care about anything and doesn't have any dreams or goals in life. It's very sad for him and I feel partly responsible (even if Adrian doesn't) in some way.

Anyway 'tomorrow is another day' as Scarlet would say so lets hope it's a better one!

I've been catching up on a few photos I needed to take and upload for Shimelle's month of colour and have also completed a quick LO for the colour green.

Another gorgeous sunny day here. Could get used to this but mustn't 'cos it won't last (just wait 'til July!)

His father and I had a little chat to Rhys last night about college, jobs, career and life in general. I hope some of it sank in and he doesn't cut his nose off to spite his face.

Bought two new CD's yesterday...Paolo Nutini, Sunny Side up and Jazon Mraz, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. Am liking JM straight away but PN will take a bit of listening too me thinks! One or two tracks are good but some are a bit strange....hmmm!

Had a lovely day yesterday - went to a crop in the morning and fell asleep in the garden (in the shade) in the afternoon.

Managed to do two and a half layouts at the crop which must be a world record for me!

This morning I've been faffing about on Photoshop trying to do a 'montage' of photos.....I think I've sussed it now and here is the result. There must be a way of putting a background to it but I haven't sussed that yet!

Dunno where this week went!

Had a bit of a domestic yesterday with regards to Rhys and College (again) and I have made an appointment to go in and see one of his lecturers and his immediate boss too. I'm getting heartily fed up of the goings on and so I'm going to try and get to the bottom of this!

I had a lovely 'post' day yesterday.....two DVDs from Amazon (Bleak House and Cranford) and some stash from Artbase. Naughty but nice! LOL

Also went down the pub with DH for a meal and a drink which was very pleasant too. All in all a very good day!

AFter a hard morning at work (tee hee!), I took myself off to Lydiard Park to take photos of trees. No I'm not going mad, it's for the June photography competition on UKS. I haven't joined in for some time and thought I would give it a go this month.

I was also very impulsive at work today and booked myself a little break to see Sue and Bernie in August! I hate flying from Stansted but it'll be worth it.

I also completed a 12x12 LO this evening while Adrian was at bell-ringing.

Dull weather-wise and dull generally.

I felt very irritable yesterday especially with my DH who is not very communicative at the best of times but seems incredibly quiet with nothing to say for himself. This led to me trying to pick a fight with him to get some sort of reaction but just led to me getting even more frustrated with him. He always says he has nothing to say but whenever he's on the phone to one of his mates he has plenty to say!!

TV was crap last night so ended up watching Twightlight again which was OK but not brilliant.

Oh well, work tomorrow.......what a waste of a weekend!!

Just over a year since my last post.........is that a world record?

I've decided to give this another go as I'm not that impressed with Facebook (which everyone said I must join!).

I hope to post at least two or three times a week and include my latest 'works of art' whatever they may be. I need to get back in the habit of taking pics.

Starting on Monday last Shimelle has a great project running through the month of June - Colour! Now, I've never been that great with colour and am fascinated by the whole 'colour wheel' thing and didn't realise how many gazillion colour cominations there are in the world. So here's to a month of learning something new!

I'm at work today my usual 0815 - 1500 which I wouldn't mind doing if there was something useful I could be doing but sitting here trying to look busy is really doing my head in!!!

My darling daughter keeps emailing me from work telling me how bored she is too ~ not helpful at all!

Bit of left over chicken for tea tonight, cunningly disguised as a curry....wow!

Think I'll get myself a bottle of wine on the way home ~ call me an alcoholic if you must!

Can't find anything interesting to do at the weekend, although if it's going to be pouring like they say it is I'd rather be at home anyway!

Roll on next weekend.....me and im indoors are going away for the weekend to Symonds Yat. It better not be raining then!

Well at least I didn't have to do any dreaded overtime this week but will be doing lots next week!

Me and im indoors booked a little break to Symonds Yat for the end of the month.....he can go walking up hill and down dale and I'll read my book and have a glass of wine!

Managed to get ONE LO done this week, although I was busy doing 10 ATC's for a swap I'm in on UKS.

Nothing exciting lined up for this weekend and have the dreaded accounts to do later today.....ugh! Oh well, back to it then.

Back from the Scrapajack Retreat .....

Had a great time, it was really great to meet the faces behind the names. It was really very well organised ~ Jaks and Debs did a fantastic job! The hotel was great, the classes were brilliant, the challenges were challenging, the food was marvelous and the company was fantastic!!

Here are some LO's I did at the retreat ~ they are three of the classes I did. I've learnt loads this passed weekend ~ the teachers were great.

Can't go to the next retreat in the Autumn but do hope they do another one next spring ~ I shall be there for sure!

Well, I might have know really ~ she failed her MOT! £170+ to fix it. Not surprised I suppose seen as how she had been used as a learner drivers car for a while. Oh well, best bite the bullet and get it done.

Was pretty stressed out yesterday over the forthcoming ScrapaJack Retreat.....I was trying to print some relevant photos in the correct shape and size and colour and theme!!! My new Epsom printer is not my best friend and we just don't see eye to eye on most things! Grrrrr.

Off to Dobbies Garden Centre with the 'old folk' today to get them out of the house and ease my conscience a bit. Megan is now tagging along as well ~God knows why!

Rhys has been 'missing' most of the weekend around his mates house....haven't seen him since Saturday.

Looks like 'we' are seriously thinking of going on a cruise in September now. His accountant was around Tuesday night and it looks like we're on course for a not too steep tax bill this time and when we get the cheque from his accident (waaayyy back in December) we should be OK. So I've been doing some investigating.....and think we're going to go with Thompson Cruises around the Med!

The first day of the Cybercrop weekend over on UKS and I love getting all excited about these things......sad I know but so what!

I'm planning on being in my PJ's most of the weekend with everyone else fending for themselves I'm afraid! I haven't gone to mad this year buying lots of stash but hope to still be able to join in and do lots of classes and challenges with what I already have.

Mum's birthday tomorrow but she's going down to my brothers so I have to pop over and see her after work today and take her pressie and card.

Rhys was at the dentist this morning for an emergency appointment ~ he has an abcess which had to be drained and temp filling put in 'til Monday. So unplanned time off work but couldn't be helped.

Only two weeks to go 'til ScrapaJacks Retreat too............something else to look forward to!!

Don't you just love it when you've spent ages on a project and actually like it - a lot!?!? Well' I've spent about four hours this afternoon/evening on making an album for Shimelle's class for the cybercrop over on UKS......and I love it.

I was naughty and bought some new papers (which I told myself I wouldn't!) but other than that I've used bits of cardboard covered in material for the covers and my own stash for everything else. I used Basic Grey Figgy Pudding and am really pleased that they don't look 'Christmasy' at all! Can't wait to see what every one else's looks like!

Other than that it's the same old, same old....work's a drag, TV's a bore ..........TG for my hobby!! Not long until Scrapajack's Retreat and there's the CC this weekend too.....woo hoo!

Haven't been blogging again have I?

Oh well, as it's only for me I'm not going to sweat it!

Had a lousy week at work......it was soooo very boring and the time really dragged! I just don't like doing those extra couple of hours everyday by the time I get home at 3.30 there isn't much time to get started on anything else other than the tea so I may as well be full-time BUT I DON'T WANT TOO!!!

Should get my bonus in my pay packet on Monday but by the time the good ole tax man has had his bit it shall be greatly reduced. A is still hoping to go on a cruise in September but I excpect something will crop up long before then to put paid to that plan! (Ever the eternal pessimist!)

Had a good morning at the Scrapaholix crop yesterday and this is what I managed to get done....well nearly. I finished it off at home.

or does anyone else like quirky, silly things like this bird plant pot holder that I've just bought in TK Maxx??? I just had to have it, it's fab!! 'Course 'im indoors will think I'm 'barking' and moan about me wasting money on trash but it makes me HAPPY so sod ya!

Finally got the house re-mortgaged (took nearly 3 months!) so can may off the loans and credit card and start again. May even get a holiday this year dependant on what my bonus is like in May.

Have bought the 'thing' that I've got to alter for the Scrapajack Retreat in May........just got to figure out what to do now!

I've had a fab week off work including a trip to Ikea, lots of scrapping, and some home decorating ~ and now it's Sunday again and work tomorrow! It doesn't help that the clocks forward last night and I've lost an hours sleep!

Yesterday I was 'home alone' most of the day, which was fine by me! DH was in Wales walking in the rain and wind and came home wet, dirty, frozen and hungery! DS was out yesterday afternoon playing paintballing in the rain and wind.....luckily he was sleeping over his friend's house last night so they had to put up with the results!!

Made a little maze book for my brother's big 50 coming up next month, hope he'll like it.

Dear diary....

Here I am again after a busy weekend which included painting the dining room, cooking sunday lunch for the parents, meeting up with my brother, Nick and his family, shopping and God knows what else. And the worst thing is I've done NO 'crafting' and am now getting withdrawl symptoms!

I don't know why I sign up for these on-line photography courses when I'm so pants at taking the most basic photos. I took some 'group' shots yesterday of the 'kids' and didn't like any of them....I don't know why I bother.

Doesn't look like I'll be getting a new kitchen this side of Armagedon so have just given the kitchen doors two coats of paint and that's it for now!

Megan is sending me emails all the time saying how she doesn't like her job and is counting the minutes 'til home-time! If she leaves this one.....I'm throwing her out on the streets!!!

Took Milo to the 'hairdressers' this morning so must go and pick him up soon........he'll look all nice and neat for two minutes!

Might go to the pictures this afternoon to see 'Love in a time of Cholera' - sounds fun doesn't it? But it supposed to be a really good movie.

Went to see Vantage Point last night - it was pretty good and better than some I've seen recently!

Hairdresser has just left after colouring my hair........and boy did it need doing!

Tomorrow is the last day at work for a week and a bit as I'm off next week. Woo hoo!!

'We' will be decorating the kitchen/diner starting from tomorrow and hoping to get it finished before Sunday.....so fingers crossed.

Two entries in two days?!?!? Could it be that I'm getting in the habit at long last? Nah....don't be silly, I'll forget again tomorrow or (more likely) not have anything worth sharing!

Megan starts work tomorrow....turning over a new leaf, a fresh start, tomorrow is the first day....etc. etc. I do hope she likes it there and that she will settle and make new friends. She's getting herself worked up like made tonight and I don't suppose will sleep much. I must give her a big hug later and wish her luck and tell her I still love her!

Did some photos of Mum yesterday for my on-line photo course I'm doing. Fairly pleased with them but must keep practising!

Need to prepare the dining room for decorating this weekend.....in fact it's got to be done and dusted by Sunday when Mum & Dad come around for dinner!?! Good job it's only a small room.

What a fab weekend I've had so far. Been to the Swindon Scrapaholix crop yesterday morning where our usual 'shop' was there....Scrapajack. Jak and Debbie very kindly asked me to do a page layout for their website and gave me a beautiful kit to work with! Me a Design Team member?!?!?

Here's a little sneaky peek! I always said Jak and Debs were the best! (I only put that in 'cause Jak reads this blog!) LOL!!

Not long to go now to the Scrapajack retreat (8th May) so better get my thinking head on soon about what to take and what not to take. Will have to ask around 'cos this will be my first retreat .....so I know nothing!

F1 starts back up on our screens today and I do like watching this.....well at least the start and end anyway!

Must away now and visit the parents and then get back to my 'designing'...tee hee!!

Been having a good old surf today and came across this excellent site .... http://thisismejournal.blogspot.com/ and have decided to start on a ME journal. Am I getting too carried away with journals now?? Probably! This will be about the 3rd or 4th one I've started but will I finish any of them?

My best friend, Sue, buried her mother today so I've been thinking of her all day and hoping shes coping OK. She has a large family so I'm sure they'll all support each other even they don't always see eye to eye!

Canceled my trip to the 'nail bar' today as I broke yet another one at work......it's just soooo not worth bothering with even though I really envy peeps with lovely nails!

DS has had a couple of girls calling for him for the past couple of nights.....so he's gone off out into the dark getting upto God knows what 'til 10pm! I know you have to let them go and he is 16!! BUT....I just hope to God he'll be OK and not get into any trouble either!?!?

Took some more photos today to catch up with the Photo prompt challenge thingy on UKS. Also managed to do some scrapping tonight but it's still drying so will upload tomorrow.

Went to the 'flicks' yesterday to see The Other Boelyn Girl.....it was really good and makes me want to learn more about that period of history. I do love a good period drama!

Also got an invite to my brother's 50th in April....must remember to make an acceptance card.

WOW that was one hell of a stormy night. I awoke at 2am and didn't sleep properly again! Thought we were going to loose the fencing at least but was surprised to see we didn't fair too badly at all. Carried on raining on and off all day....it was dismal.

Work was manic today but luckily I left at 3pm, which is bit better than working all day.

My Craft Robo arrived today which I have bought from someone on UKS.....I'm well pleased with my new toy and have already had a play. I need to find out all it can do instead of just cutting titles though. One step at a time.

I've had a great 'catch up' tonight and have done my E for my Art Journal and two more of my 'art cards' as well.

Can't believe it's only two months until Scrapajack Retreat....that has come around really fast. I better get my butt in gear and start organising myself.

I also need to organise getting the dining room painted before Easter Sunday!?!?!

Oh well, falling behind again but then it's not a competition so I'm not gonna sweat it!

I've joined a new project on UKS ~ Photo Scavenger Hunt! Not too intense so should be able to keep up (she says confidently!). Three photos a week from prompts by Mandy. Here's one I've done for my 'catch-ups'....the prompt was 'clear'.

Been working full-time for the past three weeks ~ can't say I'm enjoying it just hope it will be worth it when I see my pay packet! I've told them I'm only going to work 'til 3pm every day and then will give me a chance to get some housework/chores done as well. I hate having to do everything at the weekend!

Megan went for an interview on Thursday and got offered the job on Friday so that's good news for her and us. It's in an office this time instead of retail ~ so she'll be working 'normal' hours no bank holidays, no weekends. Mind you her first 3 or 4 pay packets are ours!!! She owes us that much money!!

Hoping to get to the flicks this week to see The Other Boelyn Girl ~ the book was very good, hope they haven't ruined it. Also looking good is Vantage Point, might drag DH along to that one.

And I haven't posted on here in ages again!!!

Well, life goes on with all it's ups and downs.......

We're still trying to re-mortgage but it takes forever.
Adrian's still waiting to hear back about compensation for his accident but it takes forever.
Megan is in BIG trouble at work which may or may not be resolved this week.

I've started an 'Art Journal'.........dunno why just wanted to and 'cos I have time on my hands at work to 'play' when no-one's looking.

Going to the Scrapaholics Roadshow this Saturday and doing a couple of classes so looking forward to that. Just ordered another American Crafts D ring album for my scrappin' 'cos they are just soooo convenient instead of 'faffing' about with screws or straps! Must stop buying though or 'im indoors will have a hissy fit.

A lovely sunny Saturday, managed to do loads!

Had to catch up with housework and shopping after having worked full-time all week but only did the bear minimum (it's such a waste of time!).

Managed to do a bit of scrappin' as well and have done my D entry for my A-Z journal of me. D is for Dedicated.....

I used an old sepia photo downloaded from t'internet.

Also managed to do my badge for the Scrapajack retreat in May (but that's under wraps for now!)

Working full-time all this week - boo hoo!

Gorgeous weather all week so far.........cold but bright and sunny.

Nothing much to report really, just wanted to update. A week today I'll be in London with Mum visiting the Terracotta Warriors!

What a glorious weekend it's been! Makes me happy all over.

It was the Swindon Scrapaholics crop yesterday morning which I went along to but didn't manage to get much done at thanks to that naughty Jakki from ScrapaJack! We had a good old chat about this, that and everything and managed to put the world to rights. Although I started this LO at the crop I had to finish it when I got home later.

Wasn't too sure about it at first but it's grown on me now. It's my entry for this month's house challenge on UKS.

This morning I spent a couple of hours out in the sunshine taking photos and then went to visit Ma & Pa who are both well and loving this better weather. This afternoon I'm cooking beef in Guinness for tea and watching the rugby. Then tonight it's one of my fav progs - Lark Rise to Camdleford and then it's the BAFTA awards with Jonathan Woss!

Thank goodness mine are old enough to do their own pancakes if the want them - I never did enjoy making pancackes (enjoy eating them though!)

Here is my finished cross-stitch - all washed and pressed. I started this piece a year ago or more but went off cross-stitching and put it all up the attic. Just the passed couple of weeks I decided to get some of it back down and finished off this lovely design and I'm pleased I did.

It's a Long Dog Sampler design called St Georges.

We're all off out tonight for a meal for my birthday, don't know where though!

Happy Birthday to me......

Had a lovely lunch with my DD at Los Gatos in Old Town (tapas bar). Lovely cards and a pressie from the 'girls' at work - Blade Runner. Gorgeous flowers and a book from DD too. DH had already given me money which I had spent at 'The Make It Show' a couple of weeks ago.

The next prompt in the 'Overlooked' blog is 'Collections'. So here are a couple of photos of my meagre collections - my Troll Beads and my 3 Momiji dolls.

Went to see 'No Country for Old Men' this afternoon with DD.....although I wouln't condem it out of hand as she did I must say it was an odd one! Didn't hate it but didn't really enjoy it and certainly didn't love it. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Haven't been keeping you up to date with my weekly UKS 'team cards' ....tsk tsk! So here are weeks 3 and 4. Week 3 was - Beverage and week 4 was texture.

Here is my LO for the Overlooked Challenge....it's quite different for me and a bit 'grungy' but I like it for a change.

Finished a mini book for my brother Nick and his wife Gill yesterday, using a kit from Scrapajack and some Crimbo photos converted into Sepia. Will give it to them next time I see them as a little thank you. I think Gill appreciates these sort of things and won't just throw it in the bin! Will upload some photos later.

Dear Diary

Heath Ledger is dead at the age of 28.

That is very sad, he was a fine actor and I thought his films were brill. I will look forward to seeing him as the Joker in the next Batman movie. What a tragic waste!

Started on my altered book but not too sure what I'm doing so am floundering a bit so will have to do more homework on this topic I think.

Slipping again - no posts in three days! Oh well, let's not sweat the small stuff as they say. Had a good weekend, no thanks to the awful weather. Went to Make It Show on Sunday with some Scrapaholic friends - spent quite a lot but got some nice stuff including two great books about 'altered journals' etc.

Have started an A-Z Journal about me and have now done the first two pages which I'm quite pleased with considering I've never done an 'art journal' before.

Also thinking of doing an 'altered book' now too.
