Woeful Wednesday....

I'm sooooo bored!!

I'm at work today my usual 0815 - 1500 which I wouldn't mind doing if there was something useful I could be doing but sitting here trying to look busy is really doing my head in!!!

My darling daughter keeps emailing me from work telling me how bored she is too ~ not helpful at all!

Bit of left over chicken for tea tonight, cunningly disguised as a curry....wow!

Think I'll get myself a bottle of wine on the way home ~ call me an alcoholic if you must!

Can't find anything interesting to do at the weekend, although if it's going to be pouring like they say it is I'd rather be at home anyway!

Roll on next weekend.....me and im indoors are going away for the weekend to Symonds Yat. It better not be raining then!

Wash day.....

Can't believe it's the weekend again........where did the week go?

Well at least I didn't have to do any dreaded overtime this week but will be doing lots next week!

Me and im indoors booked a little break to Symonds Yat for the end of the month.....he can go walking up hill and down dale and I'll read my book and have a glass of wine!

Managed to get ONE LO done this week, although I was busy doing 10 ATC's for a swap I'm in on UKS.

Nothing exciting lined up for this weekend and have the dreaded accounts to do later today.....ugh! Oh well, back to it then.

Sunshine....

Back from the Scrapajack Retreat .....

Had a great time, it was really great to meet the faces behind the names. It was really very well organised ~ Jaks and Debs did a fantastic job! The hotel was great, the classes were brilliant, the challenges were challenging, the food was marvelous and the company was fantastic!!

Here are some LO's I did at the retreat ~ they are three of the classes I did. I've learnt loads this passed weekend ~ the teachers were great.

Can't go to the next retreat in the Autumn but do hope they do another one next spring ~ I shall be there for sure!

Woo hoo............the day has nearly arrived!

Off to the ScrapaJack Retreat at Stratford upon Avon tomorrow morning, meeting lots of new people and having tons of fun and laughs and learning lots of new stuff.

I'll be back late Saturday and will blog again Sunday ~ hopefully with lots of lovely stuff to share!

Failed....

Well, I might have know really ~ she failed her MOT! £170+ to fix it. Not surprised I suppose seen as how she had been used as a learner drivers car for a while. Oh well, best bite the bullet and get it done.

Was pretty stressed out yesterday over the forthcoming ScrapaJack Retreat.....I was trying to print some relevant photos in the correct shape and size and colour and theme!!! My new Epsom printer is not my best friend and we just don't see eye to eye on most things! Grrrrr.

Off to Dobbies Garden Centre with the 'old folk' today to get them out of the house and ease my conscience a bit. Megan is now tagging along as well ~God knows why!

Rhys has been 'missing' most of the weekend around his mates house....haven't seen him since Saturday.

MOT day....

Let's hope my Little Red Riding Hood passes her test today......can do without any extra expense thank you!

Looks like 'we' are seriously thinking of going on a cruise in September now. His accountant was around Tuesday night and it looks like we're on course for a not too steep tax bill this time and when we get the cheque from his accident (waaayyy back in December) we should be OK. So I've been doing some investigating.....and think we're going to go with Thompson Cruises around the Med!

Feeling a bit better today.......have come down off the ceiling now.

Enjoyed the cybercrop at the weekend (up to when DH ruined it all for me!) and did 7 LO's and 3 challenges. Also went to a Scrapaholix class last night..........so am well and truly 'scrapped out' now!

Just got to get sorted for the ScrapaJack retreat now..........not long! Woo hoo!

It's Friday and we're off.......

The first day of the Cybercrop weekend over on UKS and I love getting all excited about these things......sad I know but so what!

I'm planning on being in my PJ's most of the weekend with everyone else fending for themselves I'm afraid! I haven't gone to mad this year buying lots of stash but hope to still be able to join in and do lots of classes and challenges with what I already have.

Mum's birthday tomorrow but she's going down to my brothers so I have to pop over and see her after work today and take her pressie and card.

Rhys was at the dentist this morning for an emergency appointment ~ he has an abcess which had to be drained and temp filling put in 'til Monday. So unplanned time off work but couldn't be helped.

Only two weeks to go 'til ScrapaJacks Retreat too............something else to look forward to!!

Oh joy.....

Don't you just love it when you've spent ages on a project and actually like it - a lot!?!? Well' I've spent about four hours this afternoon/evening on making an album for Shimelle's class for the cybercrop over on UKS......and I love it.

I was naughty and bought some new papers (which I told myself I wouldn't!) but other than that I've used bits of cardboard covered in material for the covers and my own stash for everything else. I used Basic Grey Figgy Pudding and am really pleased that they don't look 'Christmasy' at all! Can't wait to see what every one else's looks like!

Other than that it's the same old, same old....work's a drag, TV's a bore ..........TG for my hobby!! Not long until Scrapajack's Retreat and there's the CC this weekend too.....woo hoo!

Naughty, naughty

Haven't been blogging again have I?

Oh well, as it's only for me I'm not going to sweat it!

Had a lousy week at work......it was soooo very boring and the time really dragged! I just don't like doing those extra couple of hours everyday by the time I get home at 3.30 there isn't much time to get started on anything else other than the tea so I may as well be full-time BUT I DON'T WANT TOO!!!

Should get my bonus in my pay packet on Monday but by the time the good ole tax man has had his bit it shall be greatly reduced. A is still hoping to go on a cruise in September but I excpect something will crop up long before then to put paid to that plan! (Ever the eternal pessimist!)

Had a good morning at the Scrapaholix crop yesterday and this is what I managed to get done....well nearly. I finished it off at home.

Funky Friday.....

Here we are again Friday at last! Went for a walk in the park today as it was soooo nice but the forecast for Sunday is for SNOW!

Have been doing quite a lot of 'cutting and sticking' this week ~ it's very theraputic (sp?) especially my journal.

or does anyone else like quirky, silly things like this bird plant pot holder that I've just bought in TK Maxx??? I just had to have it, it's fab!! 'Course 'im indoors will think I'm 'barking' and moan about me wasting money on trash but it makes me HAPPY so sod ya!

Finally got the house re-mortgaged (took nearly 3 months!) so can may off the loans and credit card and start again. May even get a holiday this year dependant on what my bonus is like in May.

Have bought the 'thing' that I've got to alter for the Scrapajack Retreat in May........just got to figure out what to do now!

Sunny Sunday....

I've had a fab week off work including a trip to Ikea, lots of scrapping, and some home decorating ~ and now it's Sunday again and work tomorrow! It doesn't help that the clocks forward last night and I've lost an hours sleep!

Yesterday I was 'home alone' most of the day, which was fine by me! DH was in Wales walking in the rain and wind and came home wet, dirty, frozen and hungery! DS was out yesterday afternoon playing paintballing in the rain and wind.....luckily he was sleeping over his friend's house last night so they had to put up with the results!!

Made a little maze book for my brother's big 50 coming up next month, hope he'll like it.

Pubs and painting....

Dear diary....

Here I am again after a busy weekend which included painting the dining room, cooking sunday lunch for the parents, meeting up with my brother, Nick and his family, shopping and God knows what else. And the worst thing is I've done NO 'crafting' and am now getting withdrawl symptoms!

I don't know why I sign up for these on-line photography courses when I'm so pants at taking the most basic photos. I took some 'group' shots yesterday of the 'kids' and didn't like any of them....I don't know why I bother.

Doesn't look like I'll be getting a new kitchen this side of Armagedon so have just given the kitchen doors two coats of paint and that's it for now!

Megan is sending me emails all the time saying how she doesn't like her job and is counting the minutes 'til home-time! If she leaves this one.....I'm throwing her out on the streets!!!

Took Milo to the 'hairdressers' this morning so must go and pick him up soon........he'll look all nice and neat for two minutes!

Might go to the pictures this afternoon to see 'Love in a time of Cholera' - sounds fun doesn't it? But it supposed to be a really good movie.

Went to see Vantage Point last night - it was pretty good and better than some I've seen recently!





Hairdresser has just left after colouring my hair........and boy did it need doing!





Tomorrow is the last day at work for a week and a bit as I'm off next week. Woo hoo!!





'We' will be decorating the kitchen/diner starting from tomorrow and hoping to get it finished before Sunday.....so fingers crossed.

Monday mumblings.....

Dear Diary.....

Two entries in two days?!?!? Could it be that I'm getting in the habit at long last? Nah....don't be silly, I'll forget again tomorrow or (more likely) not have anything worth sharing!

Megan starts work tomorrow....turning over a new leaf, a fresh start, tomorrow is the first day....etc. etc. I do hope she likes it there and that she will settle and make new friends. She's getting herself worked up like made tonight and I don't suppose will sleep much. I must give her a big hug later and wish her luck and tell her I still love her!

Did some photos of Mum yesterday for my on-line photo course I'm doing. Fairly pleased with them but must keep practising!

Need to prepare the dining room for decorating this weekend.....in fact it's got to be done and dusted by Sunday when Mum & Dad come around for dinner!?! Good job it's only a small room.

Rainy days.....

What a fab weekend I've had so far. Been to the Swindon Scrapaholix crop yesterday morning where our usual 'shop' was there....Scrapajack. Jak and Debbie very kindly asked me to do a page layout for their website and gave me a beautiful kit to work with! Me a Design Team member?!?!?

Here's a little sneaky peek! I always said Jak and Debs were the best! (I only put that in 'cause Jak reads this blog!) LOL!!

Not long to go now to the Scrapajack retreat (8th May) so better get my thinking head on soon about what to take and what not to take. Will have to ask around 'cos this will be my first retreat .....so I know nothing!

F1 starts back up on our screens today and I do like watching this.....well at least the start and end anyway!

Must away now and visit the parents and then get back to my 'designing'...tee hee!!

Funky Friday....

Been having a good old surf today and came across this excellent site .... http://thisismejournal.blogspot.com/ and have decided to start on a ME journal. Am I getting too carried away with journals now?? Probably! This will be about the 3rd or 4th one I've started but will I finish any of them?

My best friend, Sue, buried her mother today so I've been thinking of her all day and hoping shes coping OK. She has a large family so I'm sure they'll all support each other even they don't always see eye to eye!

Canceled my trip to the 'nail bar' today as I broke yet another one at work......it's just soooo not worth bothering with even though I really envy peeps with lovely nails!

DS has had a couple of girls calling for him for the past couple of nights.....so he's gone off out into the dark getting upto God knows what 'til 10pm! I know you have to let them go and he is 16!! BUT....I just hope to God he'll be OK and not get into any trouble either!?!?

Off to do a bit of scrappin' and faffin' about....bye for now!

Catching up.....

Took some more photos today to catch up with the Photo prompt challenge thingy on UKS. Also managed to do some scrapping tonight but it's still drying so will upload tomorrow.

Went to the 'flicks' yesterday to see The Other Boelyn Girl.....it was really good and makes me want to learn more about that period of history. I do love a good period drama!

Also got an invite to my brother's 50th in April....must remember to make an acceptance card.

Stormy....

WOW that was one hell of a stormy night. I awoke at 2am and didn't sleep properly again! Thought we were going to loose the fencing at least but was surprised to see we didn't fair too badly at all. Carried on raining on and off all day....it was dismal.

Work was manic today but luckily I left at 3pm, which is bit better than working all day.

My Craft Robo arrived today which I have bought from someone on UKS.....I'm well pleased with my new toy and have already had a play. I need to find out all it can do instead of just cutting titles though. One step at a time.

I've had a great 'catch up' tonight and have done my E for my Art Journal and two more of my 'art cards' as well.

Can't believe it's only two months until Scrapajack Retreat....that has come around really fast. I better get my butt in gear and start organising myself.

I also need to organise getting the dining room painted before Easter Sunday!?!?!

Sunny Sunday....

Oh well, falling behind again but then it's not a competition so I'm not gonna sweat it!

I've joined a new project on UKS ~ Photo Scavenger Hunt! Not too intense so should be able to keep up (she says confidently!). Three photos a week from prompts by Mandy. Here's one I've done for my 'catch-ups'....the prompt was 'clear'.

Been working full-time for the past three weeks ~ can't say I'm enjoying it just hope it will be worth it when I see my pay packet! I've told them I'm only going to work 'til 3pm every day and then will give me a chance to get some housework/chores done as well. I hate having to do everything at the weekend!

Megan went for an interview on Thursday and got offered the job on Friday so that's good news for her and us. It's in an office this time instead of retail ~ so she'll be working 'normal' hours no bank holidays, no weekends. Mind you her first 3 or 4 pay packets are ours!!! She owes us that much money!!

Hoping to get to the flicks this week to see The Other Boelyn Girl ~ the book was very good, hope they haven't ruined it. Also looking good is Vantage Point, might drag DH along to that one.

27th February......

And I haven't posted on here in ages again!!!

Well, life goes on with all it's ups and downs.......

We're still trying to re-mortgage but it takes forever.
Adrian's still waiting to hear back about compensation for his accident but it takes forever.
Megan is in BIG trouble at work which may or may not be resolved this week.

I've started an 'Art Journal'.........dunno why just wanted to and 'cos I have time on my hands at work to 'play' when no-one's looking.

Going to the Scrapaholics Roadshow this Saturday and doing a couple of classes so looking forward to that. Just ordered another American Crafts D ring album for my scrappin' 'cos they are just soooo convenient instead of 'faffing' about with screws or straps! Must stop buying though or 'im indoors will have a hissy fit.

Had to catch up with housework and shopping after having worked full-time all week but only did the bear minimum (it's such a waste of time!).


Managed to do a bit of scrappin' as well and have done my D entry for my A-Z journal of me. D is for Dedicated.....

Also managed to do my badge for the Scrapajack retreat in May (but that's under wraps for now!)

Working full-time all this week - boo hoo!

Gorgeous weather all week so far.........cold but bright and sunny.

Nothing much to report really, just wanted to update. A week today I'll be in London with Mum visiting the Terracotta Warriors!

Sunny Sunday.....

What a glorious weekend it's been! Makes me happy all over.

It was the Swindon Scrapaholics crop yesterday morning which I went along to but didn't manage to get much done at thanks to that naughty Jakki from ScrapaJack! We had a good old chat about this, that and everything and managed to put the world to rights. Although I started this LO at the crop I had to finish it when I got home later.

Wasn't too sure about it at first but it's grown on me now. It's my entry for this month's house challenge on UKS.

This morning I spent a couple of hours out in the sunshine taking photos and then went to visit Ma & Pa who are both well and loving this better weather. This afternoon I'm cooking beef in Guinness for tea and watching the rugby. Then tonight it's one of my fav progs - Lark Rise to Camdleford and then it's the BAFTA awards with Jonathan Woss!

Thank goodness mine are old enough to do their own pancakes if the want them - I never did enjoy making pancackes (enjoy eating them though!)

Cross-stitch....

Here is my finished cross-stitch - all washed and pressed. I started this piece a year ago or more but went off cross-stitching and put it all up the attic. Just the passed couple of weeks I decided to get some of it back down and finished off this lovely design and I'm pleased I did.

It's a Long Dog Sampler design called St Georges.

We're all off out tonight for a meal for my birthday, don't know where though!

Had a lovely lunch with my DD at Los Gatos in Old Town (tapas bar). Lovely cards and a pressie from the 'girls' at work - Blade Runner. Gorgeous flowers and a book from DD too. DH had already given me money which I had spent at 'The Make It Show' a couple of weeks ago.

The next prompt in the 'Overlooked' blog is 'Collections'. So here are a couple of photos of my meagre collections - my Troll Beads and my 3 Momiji dolls.

Movies...

Went to see 'No Country for Old Men' this afternoon with DD.....although I wouln't condem it out of hand as she did I must say it was an odd one! Didn't hate it but didn't really enjoy it and certainly didn't love it. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Haven't been keeping you up to date with my weekly UKS 'team cards' ....tsk tsk! So here are weeks 3 and 4. Week 3 was - Beverage and week 4 was texture.

Overlooked....

Here is my LO for the Overlooked Challenge....it's quite different for me and a bit 'grungy' but I like it for a change.

Finished a mini book for my brother Nick and his wife Gill yesterday, using a kit from Scrapajack and some Crimbo photos converted into Sepia. Will give it to them next time I see them as a little thank you. I think Gill appreciates these sort of things and won't just throw it in the bin! Will upload some photos later.

Woeful Wednesday

Dear Diary

Heath Ledger is dead at the age of 28.

That is very sad, he was a fine actor and I thought his films were brill. I will look forward to seeing him as the Joker in the next Batman movie. What a tragic waste!

Started on my altered book but not too sure what I'm doing so am floundering a bit so will have to do more homework on this topic I think.

Ooppss....

Slipping again - no posts in three days! Oh well, let's not sweat the small stuff as they say. Had a good weekend, no thanks to the awful weather. Went to Make It Show on Sunday with some Scrapaholic friends - spent quite a lot but got some nice stuff including two great books about 'altered journals' etc.

Have started an A-Z Journal about me and have now done the first two pages which I'm quite pleased with considering I've never done an 'art journal' before.

Also thinking of doing an 'altered book' now too.

Tired....

Had a very fitful night's sleep last night. Strange, morbid dreams. Kept waking up too, which isn't like me. Needless to say I'm very tired this morning and have to work all day to cover for holiday. Grrr.

Went to see 'PS I Love You' with Sue at the flicks yesterday afternoon. It was OK but not really my cup of tea - too much of chick flick.

Sue seems to have changed a lot or is it me or is it that I'm just too sensitive these days??? We always used to be such good friends but she seems very much wrapped up in her own little world with not a care about how anyone else is. She seems very self centred and has a bit of a 'martyr syndrome' going on about her mother. Oh well I'll wait and see what she's like after her mother has gone........have a feeling that I won't be hearing much from her after that.
